Truck Dispatcher Job Summary

The Truck Dispatcher is responsible for dispatching and routing trucks and drivers in a timely and efficient manner. This position ensures that all freight is picked up and delivered on time and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. The Truck Dispatcher also communicates with customers, truck drivers, and other personnel to ensure that all orders are handled accurately and professionally. Truck Dispatcher Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor truck drivers’ routes and adjust as necessary to ensure efficient delivery of freight
• Record and maintain all relevant data including driver’s hours, delivery locations, and freight information
• Communicate with customers, drivers, and other personnel to resolve issues
• Ensure that all freight is delivered on time and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
• Monitor truck drivers’ logs to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations
• Coordinate with truck drivers and other personnel to ensure that all orders are handled correctly
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Truck Dispatcher Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a truck dispatching or truck driving role
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations governing trucking operations
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Office and related software programs
• Valid driver’s license
• Fluent in English
• Clear understanding of freight market and load board
• Experience with credit checks for brokers and communication with brokers
